New Albums for the New Year!

(though it's a little late) On behalf of the staff, we wish you the best for 2009 . . . hopefully no resolutions were broken by now!
The site has exploded through the last year, and we have you to thank.
I asked Santa to give you all new hard drives to hold an additional three-thousand music albums, did everyone get them? If not, HalleAlle will give him a swift kick-in-the-ass.
Now for the real reason why this announcement took so long, which was sorting through all those uploads.
There were billions (250)! Felt like years approving them though, and maybe only half made it through. The queue should not get that long again anytime soon, so no six month wait between uploading and getting it on the list.
We will now reinstate the week or more given to correct uploads, since the queue is back down to 0. The Uploading Guidelines/Rules have been modified semi-heavily, please read through the thread again if you would like to upload here. The following modifications have been made basically in the past few weeks:
``If you feel that your game OST should be approved, please let us know in the description or comments how the game is related to anime.''Added, since it is difficult to track down the relationship most of the time.
``If the files you are wanting to upload are in Japanese or another language, translate them into English or at least Romanize them. At the moment, all fields of ID3 tags should be Romanized.''A lot of uploads were removed because of Kanji in the tags, even in non-required fields. We are keeping the rule this way because some MP3 players don't play nice with Unicode, and we are standardizing the uploads more now.
``ID3 tags should have at least the following information: Title, Artist (if available), Album name, Track Number. If other fields are included such as Date or Genre, make them accurate and consistent in style.''Staff is going to be more strict now, and enforce tagging requirements. Almost everyone seems to know how to do this now, but an upcoming tutorial is underway to show how to do it in major software music players such as Winamp, iTunes, and foobar2000.

Backup Your Images!

It's been months since I made an announcement about the future of AOST. You can view it here. I'm going to take advantage of my winter break to get this started. Our first thing on the list is to take down the gallery. We're going to use a different gallery script, which doesn't allow images be transferred from the old script to the new one. Therefore, please backup your images now if you would like to keep them. You will have 10 days to do so. While you're at it, backup your avatars and signatures. We don't know whether they'll be deleted when upgrading the forums.

Attention Uploaders

Due to us mods having been hella busy for the last few months and now having more free time (or will in a week after finals), we will be going through the upload queue, and are currently revoking the week given to correct issues so we can get all the uploads out of this section and have a fresh start...since some have been in there for up to six months.
Stay tuned for an update on what's been uploaded for the past few months!
